Education and Awareness Ambassador

Kamrul Hassan is a student from Dhaka, Bangladesh, with a strong interest in STEM, research, education, and science communication. He has participated in a variety of STEM and youth-led initiatives, developing experience in research, educational content, writing, and outreach. Through Project WORTHY, Kamrul is contributing to curriculum development and educational resources, with a particular interest in making STEM learning engaging and accessible to students. He hopes to continue contributing to educational initiatives and explore opportunities to expand STEM access in Bangladesh in the future.

In addition to contributing to curriculum development and educational resources, Kamrul will help Project WORTHY raise awareness about homelessness and children experiencing home insecurity in Bangladesh. Drawing on his local knowledge and perspective, he can provide Bangladesh-specific context, help research and review information, and contribute to educational posts and other awareness materials that accurately and respectfully communicate the challenges faced by children and young people. He serve sas a valuable local voice and resource, helping the organization better understand and communicate issues affecting children in Bangladesh. Through this work, he can help expand awareness of Project WORTHY’s mission among students and others who may be interested in supporting the cause.

Understanding the Need in Bangladesh

Bangladesh, and particularly Dhaka, is home to many children and young people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, and life on the streets. Children may find themselves in these circumstances because of poverty, family instability, violence, displacement, or limited access to education and social services. For many, the challenges extend far beyond the absence of a stable home and can include food insecurity, unsafe living and working conditions, interrupted education, exploitation, and limited access to essential support. Project WORTHY recognizes the importance of understanding these challenges within their local context. Through our Bangladesh Initiative, we hope to raise awareness among students and communities while developing educational resources that encourage greater understanding, compassion, and action. With the perspective of students like Kamrul, who can bring firsthand knowledge of the local context, Project WORTHY can work toward making these issues more visible and helping young people understand how they can contribute to meaningful change.
