The West LA Chapter
June 2024 - Present
Project WORTHY West Los Angeles was started by students from David Geffen Academy to support the children and families at Alexandria House, a nonprofit organization that provides safe housing and resources for women and children experiencing homelessness. The neighborhood surrounding Alexandria House faces significant challenges, including a high cost of living, limited affordable housing, and barriers to education and employment. Families in this area often struggle to access basic necessities, such as stable housing, nutritious food, and quality educational support.

Eric Xie is a high school student at Geffen Academy at UCLA. He is interested in many STEM subjects, such as Math, Physics, and Coding. With the Westside LA branch of Project WORTHY, he hopes to share his STEM knowledge with youth affected by poverty.
